What is Relora?

Relora is a dietary supplement made from an extract from the plant compound called wan leaf that has been known for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Relora works by helping the body keep cortisol levels within the normal range. Suppose your body is naturally trying to release or move for this stress-related steroid hormone. Phellodendron amurense bark, colloquially known as Amur corkwood or Chinese corkwood, grows wild in forested regions in northeastern China and Korea. It is also found as an introduced species in the Appalachian Mountains and the Pacific Northwest region of North America.

Phellodendron amurense bark is a medium to large size tree that grows tall and wide. It has several branches and short, corky bark. The leaves are compound and can be as long as, are dark green on top and whitish-green on the underside. They have five to seven leaflets, and sometimes as many as nine or eleven (rarely), they end in an acute point. The flowers of this plant produce small fruits called drupes, which are red when they ripen in the fall; they contain one to three seeds.

Phellodendron amurense bark contains many tannins and other chemical compounds such as gallic acid, ferulic acid, and ellagic acid. The bark has also been used in medicine by Chinese traditional practitioners for various human ailments such as coughs and inflammations. Research has shown that this corkwood plant may have an antitumor effect on breast cancer cells.
